The Climate Trunk brings together a small group of experienced thinkers to challenge and strengthen this project. They will help shape the scope of the rings and ensure the content stays grounded, rigorous and useful.
Amanda Carpenter is the founder and CEO of Achill Legal, as well as co-founder and director of Legal Charter 1.5. In 2026 Amanda won the Legal 500 ESG Award – Environmental/Sustainability: Champion of the Year. She is a recognised climate leader, hosts a leading sustainability podcast and serves as trustee of the Environmental Law Foundation and member of the Expert Advisory Board at the Oxford Climate Policy Monitor.
Richard Black is currently Head of Communications at Climate Analytics and a former BBC environment correspondent. He has spent much of his career helping people make sense of climate and energy. Richard founded the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) and is the author of Denied: The rise and fall of climate contrarianism and The Future of Energy.
